QUO Coffee is among the first Nordic partners of importer Belco’s Fresh Coffee Clean Ocean initiative, which aims to transport coffee to Europe by sail, dramatically reducing the carbon footprint of maritime freight.

With maritime shipping responsible for 3–4% of the EU’s total carbon emissions over 124 million tonnes of CO₂ in 2021 alone Belco has set an ambitious goal: to move 90% of the coffees they source by sail within the next six years. QUO is proud to contribute to this mission, recognising that their impact extends far beyond roasting exceptional coffee for their community.

This special lot reflects that commitment to sustainability and responsibility. In the cup, it offers a nutty profile reminiscent of roasted almonds, balanced by the sweetness of yellow plums, and a silky milk-chocolate body.

The Quo in the Latin term ‘status-quo’ by definition, means “To give or recieve for something given in return” which we see fitting to our work in challenging the status quo of a broken commercial, and specialty coffee industry. We aim for our product to highlight the quality and consistency of the producers we work with throughout the supply chain, and work more intently to consistantly make improvements on our impact.
