The Barista Skills Foundation course provides the opportunity to gain basic coffee knowledge as well as important skills needed to set up the coffee grinder, prepare espresso, milk steaming and texture and latte art techniques according to SCA quality standards, while also learning useful practices for clean and safe customer service. Hands-on learning objectives and activities prepare the learner to perform key essential barista tasks. A written exam checks the theoretical knowledge gained on the learning objectives of the Foundation course.

3 short practice tests and a written exam (15 questions, with 60% required to pass the course)

After completing the course, you will receive an email within 5 days that includes a link to the written exam. You will have 21 days to complete the exam and you will be notified of the result immediately.

The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) is the globally accredited organization that represents coffee professionals worldwide.
