Taith brings you this exceptional Geisha from Yunlan Estate, grown at altitudes between 1600–1800 MASL in the mountainous Yunnan region of China. This natural-processed Geisha showcases the elegance and potential of Chinese terroir, shaped by years of careful cultivation and experimentation.
The story began in 2017, when Yunlan Estate imported Geisha seeds from the legendary La Esmeralda Estate in Panama and planted them at 1750 meters above sea level. For the first four years, the estate—under the guidance of founder Mr. Hongjun Zhang—chose not to process the harvested cherries. Instead, they returned them to the soil, refining their understanding of the coffee species and optimizing the conditions for cultivation.
After five years of experimentation, the first successful Geisha harvest arrived in 2023. The second harvest followed in 2024, yielding 1000 kg of beans. The unique combination of Yunnan’s volcanic soil and natural processing methods imparts striking flavor notes to this Geisha, including red wine, berry, and black tea.
Founded in 1999, Yunlan Estate is renowned for its dedication to quality and innovation. The estate cultivates over 20 rare coffee varieties, emphasizing traditional post-harvest methods that preserve the soul of the region in every cup.
