ABOUT THE COFFEE

Velvet Bliss is a flagship offering from La Reserva Management Center, a collaboration of eight second- and third-generation coffee farms in Huila, Colombia. Notably, Fabiola Ortega, a recent favorite, contributed to this exceptional lot. 

For nearly a decade, La Reserva has partnered with InConexus to enhance regenerative agriculture practices and elevate coffee quality. Beyond coffee, these Rainforest Alliance Certified farms cultivate citrus fruits, avocados, bananas, and yucca, reflecting their commitment to biodiversity and sustainability. 

The meticulous anaerobic washed processing of Velvet Bliss begins with harvesting only the ripest cherries, which undergo a 48-hour fermentation in-cherry. After de-pulping without water, the beans ferment for an additional 100 hours in tanks. The coffee then dries on airflow canopy beds for 22 to 26 days, ensuring optimal flavor development. 

In the cup, Velvet Bliss presents a rich, saturated profile with vibrant notes of grapefruit, cranberry, and plump grapes, exemplifying the dedication of La Reserva’s producers to excellence.
