Located between the village of Bombe and the towering Bombe mountain, Shantawene is home to smallholder farmers who cultivate coffee in the lush garden plots surrounding their homes. This lot, grown at approximately 2,226 metres in the Bensa district, benefits from Sidama’s two distinct rainy seasons, which shape its remarkable flavour profile. Ethiopia’s coffee heritage thrives in this region where coffee trees have grown naturally for centuries.

We are beyond excited to welcome Colonna Coffee to our shelves this month! Based in the historic city of Bath, UK, Colonna is anything but traditional when it comes to coffee. Founded by Maxwell Colonna-Dashwood - a three-time UK Barista Champion and a true visionary in the specialty coffee world - this roastery is known for pushing boundaries and delivering flawless flavour.

From groundbreaking work on coffee capsules and water chemistry, to their meticulous sourcing and roasting, Colonna approaches coffee with precision, passion, and purpose. Every release is treated like a curated experience, with a focus on clarity, varietal expression, and innovation.

We have chosen Colonna not just for their incredible coffees (though yes, they’re stunning!), but because of how they challenge the status quo - making high-end coffee both accessible and exciting.
