FOR THE COFFEE

This natural Brazilian lot from producer Wanderley Franco is among the fruitiest Brazil coffees QUO has ever sourced. With notes reminiscent of fig jam, it offers a clean, creamy mouthfeel that calls to mind milk chocolate.

Morada dos Pássaros (“Home of the Birds”) is a 45-hectare farm located in Campestre, Sul de Minas, an area famed for its rich volcanic soil ideal for growing high-quality coffee. Sitting at 1120 masl, the farm cultivates Mundo Novo, Red and Yellow Catuaí, and Yellow Catucaí varieties, with harvesting taking place from June to September. This lot is naturally processed to highlight its distinct sweetness and fruit character.

Wanderley, a third-generation coffee grower, manages the farm with his son-in-law, Flávio Bandeiras. Since 2016, they’ve been part of the Especialíssimo program, a specialty coffee initiative from SMC and Cooxupé. Through the program, they’ve enhanced quality year after year investing in new patios, modern machinery, improved storage, and advanced agricultural practices, all supported by technical guidance.

The farm takes its name from the abundance of bird species that inhabit the surrounding area, making it not just a place of production, but a home to local wildlife.
